“Could not complete your request because something prevented the text engine from being initialized ….” Error
I tried all the method i found in google , for ex
1. Close all Adobe applications.
2. Go to Start and in the search field, type: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Adobe
3. Delete the TypeSupport folder
4. Open Photoshop, things should be back to normal.
nothing happen, but i found the problem is
- I ‘m using portable Photoshop CS5, so remove all the file created by Photoshop
- Install another version of Photoshop ( not Portable )
The problem solved, Good luck!

Problem arose after installing CS3 Illustrator on a Win7 64x system which already had Photoshop CS3 installed.
i dont even have a dam typesupport folder, where is everything finding this! i even do a search on my pc and i dont have one, wth ?! 😦
find it in C:/user/…/AppData/…. Good luck!
The “typesupport folder” is hidden
View hidden files
type support folder is inside AppData/Local/Adobe
AppData is hidden folder.

this error is effing stupid. why doesn’t the error generation code also offer an option to repair? horrible programming.

create empty file “CP1251.txt” in program folder (near “photoshop.exe”)

No. it didn’t work for me. I deleted TypeSupport folder and also created and place an empty txt file in the folder where photoshop exe resides.
now what should I do?
Solution: there are some fonts which creates problem. You just need to select some other font and the problem will be resolved. thats what happened with me.
